Melt 1/2 cup butter; set aside. Whisk together flour, cornstarch, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, baking powder and salt; set aside. In separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk and melted butter until blended; stir into flour mixture just until combined. Preheat waffle iron and cook waffles according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Melt remaining sugar with maple syrup in large skillet set over medium heat; cook until sugar dissolves and comes to boil. Boil for 1 minute; stir in remaining butter. Add bananas; cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until tender. Spoon over waffles. Garnish with pecans, and add flaked sea salt if desired.
Serve with dollops of whipped cream and fresh berries if desired. For whipped cream, beat Promised Land Heavy Whipping Cream with electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Sweeten to taste with icing sugar.
