1. Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Set aside.
2. Melt the butter, milk and sugar over medium low heat, stirring continuously. When just to a boil, remove from heat and immediately stir in 1 cup of the milk chocolate chips.
3. Transfer chocolate mixture to a large bowl and stir in the eggs, one at a time.
4. Stir in vanilla and flour mixture.
5. Fold in remaining cup of chocolate chips and nuts, if desired.
6. Pour batter into a greased 9×9 pan.
7. Bake for 30 -35 minutes at 325 degrees.
